She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Schroeder, her parents, 4 brothers, Deek, Gussy, Homer and Jerry and 1 sister, Pat. She is survived by her second husband, Clinton Green, 13 loving children, Judy, Bobby, Debbie, Sheila, Randy, Sue, Kevin, Brenda, Diane, Jackie, Cindy, Ricky and Lisa. In addition, she is survived by 4 step-children; Christopher, Victor, Kathy and Michael. Other surviving family members include 3 sisters; Faye, Jackie and Vivian, as well as 39 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren of which she loved dearly. Margaret lived a very productive and rewarding life. She devoted her life to God by teaching Sunday School and at the Bible Baptist Temple. Her grandchildren have fond memories of her teaching Bible School in the basement of her home which Margaret transformed into a classroom. She loved teaching so much that she attended UW-Stout to become a Head Start teacher for Rock County. Not only was she a vigilant prayer warrior, Margaret never grew tired of helping others. Her doors remained open to anyone who needed her; whether it was a shoulder to cry on, a heartfelt prayer, a good laugh, a bear hug, a delicious homemade “dough-gots” and chocolate cookies. Her kitchen was rarely empty and everyone’s stomach was always full. Whoever came to know Margaret quickly realized what an amazing humanitarian she was. Although her heart became very weak the last part of her life, she continued to open it up and share her love with anyone that would receive it. Despite the ravages of her health, Margaret remained an inspiration to everyone that came into contact with her. She will forever be remembered in our hearts and minds as a courageous, loving, humble and god-fearing woman that she was. Margaret’s visitation will be from 11 a.m. to Noon Monday, March 17, 2014 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon Monday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Pastor Howard Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
“Margaret’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Mercy Hospital ICU staff and doctors for the excellent care they gave her and her family.”
